On March 25th, the level 6 boys took
the state meet by storm! The 8/9 year old age group placed first as a
team with a score of 153.05. The 10/11 year old age group placed first
as a team with a score of 161.65, and the DeVeau's level 6 team also
placed first overall with a score of 163.05! Each boy had a great
meet. Murphy Angelo, Nick Guy and Joe Young were in the 8/9 age
group. Joe placed first in floor exercise, third in pommel horse
and second in high bar. Nick placed second in floor and rings
third in vault and had first place in high bar. Murphy Angelo
had second place in pommel horse, vault and third place in parallel bars
and high bar! In the All Around Nick took the silver, Joe
the bronze and Murphy was a solid 5th place.
Austin Smith competed in the 10/11 year old age group and was named
vault champion and was 7th all-around. WOW, they were
fantastic. Not to mention, each of them qualified for Regionals!
In the 10/11 year old age group
John Buschbacher, Matt Rittman, and Clay Thomas were the
competitors. Clay took first place in Floor exercise, Pommel
Horse and High bar and second in all around. Matt took first in
rings, Parellel Bars and was first in the all around by two tenths of a
point. John got a third in High Bar and was ninth all around!
Again all three qualified to go to Regionals!

Circle of Stars:
The Level 6 boys were very excited to be at their meet...the Circle of
Stars. They are an impressive group of boys and did a fanstastic job!
In the 7 to 9 year old age group, Nick Guy placed 12th place all
around with a score of 49.5 and had a fifth place in Vault with a score
of 9.4. Joe Young placed 14th all around with a score of 48.5 and
placed 9th in high bar with a score of 8.7. Murphy Angelo in high
second meet coming off an injury placed 19 all around and place 8th in
Pommel Hourse with a score of 8.2. In the 10 year old group, Clay
Thomas had a great meet placing 2nd all around with a score of 54.9.
He got a first place in Pommel Horse with a score of 9.35 a third in
floor exercise with a score of 9.4 a third in P bars with a score of
8.95 and a second in High bar with a score of 9.4. Matt Rittman
also had an outstanding meet placing all around 6th place with a score
of 52.05. He placed fifth in floor ex, p bar and and tied for fourth in
high bar with respective scores of 9.3,8.8 and 8.8. Austin Smith
did very well, taking 19th place with a score of 46.7. He had a
beautiful high bar routine and tied for fourth with a score of 8.8!
In the 11 year old group, John Buschbacher had a solid meet and
placed 6th all around with a score of 49.1. He received a third place in
Vault with a score of 9.3 and a fourth in p bars with a score of 8.0.
Go DeVeau's!!!
The level 6 boys had a fun and successful meet at the
Winterfest meet in Cincinnati Ohio. They competed early on Sunday
morning and all did a great job. Overall, the level 6 boys took third
place against some very tough competition. They were led by Matt
Rittman (age 10) who took a first place all around with first on
Floor exercise and Pommel Horse. Clay Thomas took a second
All-Around (age 10) with firsts in P-Bars and Horizontal Bar. Nick
Guy (age 9) took a third in Vault. Joe Young took a 6th in
Pommel Horse. John Buschbacher had 6th in Pommel Horse, a 7th in
Vault a 6th in Horizontal bar with a 7th place all around. Murphy
Angelo had a good showing in spite of an injury that prevented him
from competing on floor and vault. Go boys!
