The Level 4 age 6 boys did a fantastic job at Interactivity, and were led by Will Knight who had 1st place All-Around with 1st places in PH and PB. Nick Guy took 2nd All-Around, and Justin Davis garnered 3rd place All-Around. Mitchell Brown received a 6th place All-Around. Tyler Colon received at 7th place in rings. Jarret Greene received 9th Place in Pommel Horse. Kelvyn Thompson had a great rings routing and received a 1st place. Drew Morris received a 5th place in a tough Vault competition. Mitchell Fairweather received 8th place in vault. Aaron Varnau received an 11 place in Vault. Jonathan Lauer received an 18th place in Floor Exercise. Walter Buschbacher received 24th place in High Bar.

The Level 4 age 7 boys also had an amazing meet. Murphy Angelo had a strong 1st place finish in the All Around. Peter Henricksen garnered a 3rd place in the PB and 6th All-Around. Michael Fleck received a 4th place in Vault and 7th All-Around. Luke Manley received a 4th place in Pommel Horse and 8th All-Around. Keep up the good work boys!!

2005 Queen City Winterfest

The Level 4 Boys traveled for the third meet of their season to Cincinnati, Ohio on January 30th for the Winterfest 2005 competition. The team experienced some competition but they fought hard and achieved a great third place standing with a team score of 165.65

The team was lead by Will Knight who earned a shining second place all-around. Will took second on rings and high bar as well. Nick Guy secured fifth place all-around with fourth place on floor and pommel horse. Justin Davis followed closely behind with a sixth place all-around score. Justin collected 2nd place on pommel horse and 3rd place on floor. Tyler Colon placed 8th all-around. Tyler vaulted into second place on vault. Jarret Greene received 10th place all-around. Jarret scored 6th place on high bar and 8th place on rings.

Strong all-around standings continued with Kelvyn Thompson capturing 13th place all-around. Kelvyn took 8th place on the parallel bars and 11th place on pommel horse. He was followed closely by Drew Morris collecting 14th place all-around & Mitchell Brown with 15th place all-around. Drew took 5th on high bar and 11th on floor. Mitchell also gathered 6th on rings and 8th on pommel horse. Jonathon Lauer jumped into 19th place all-around with 12th place on floor exercise. Mitchell Fairweather achieved 22nd all-around with 13th place on vault. Avery Lewis earned 26th place all-around with 14th place on vault. Aaron Varnau and Walter Buschbacher attained 28th & 29th all-around, respectively. Aaron also scored 15th on rings. Walter had his personal best on pommel horse and rings.

The Queen City Gym hosted Winterfest meet showed the boys they could stand up to some competition. The Level 4 boys look ahead to the A Plus Invite on February 13th in Noblesville.

Circle of Stars 2005...

The Level 4 boys had their exciting second competition of the season on January 23, 2005 at the Circle of Stars meet in downtown Indianapolis.  Circle of Stars is one of the five biggest meets in the country but the boys didn't let that fact intimidate them.  At the meet the boys were divided into sessions and grouped by ages for competition.

The Jr. 7 & Under (Session 5) group achieved first place with a team score of 162.4.  The team was lead by Justin Davis who attained 4th place all-around.  Justin placed 2nd on rings and parallel bars.  Kelvyn Thompson was also a team leader with 6th place all-around.  Kelvyn secured 4th place on pommel horse and parallel bars.  He was also in a 5th place tie on vault.  Next in line was Jarret Greene winning the 8th place all-around.  Jarret was in a tie for 4th place on floor.  He also placed 8th on parallel bars and high bar.  Drew Morris captured 9th place all-around.  Drew scored 6th on vault, 7th on high bar and tied for 7th on rings.  Avery Lewis collected 12th all-around for DeVeau's.  Avery scored 10th on pommel horse and parallel bars.

The Sr. 7 & Under (Session 5) group was led by Murphy Angelo with a shining first place all-around.  Murphy also collected first on rings, second on floor, pommel horse, vault and parallel bars.  Michael Fleck accomplished 4th on high bar.  Luke Manley scored 8th place all-around.  Luke secured 4th on floor and 5th place on vault.  The boys Level 4 (Session 5) had an accomplished day at the Circle of Stars meet and finished strong.

The 7 & Under (Session 6) group vaulted their way into a powerful second place position with a team score of 162.15.  This group was lead by Will Knight who captured first place all-around.  Will collected first place on pommel horse, rings & high bar.  Nicholas Guy achieved second place all-around.  Nicholas also received second on floor & parallel bars.  He scored first on vault.  Mitchell Brown came in next with a 5th place all-around score.  Mitchell had a first place on parallel bars & 4th place on high bar.  Tyler Colon captured 9th place all-around with a strong second place on rings & a tie for 7th on vault.  Mitchell Fairweather achieved 13th place all-around with a 2nd place score on vault and a tie for 11th place on floor.  Aaron Varnau was next in line with an accomplished 15th place all-around.  Aaron tied for 5th on vault and scored 14th on parallel bars.  Jonathon Lauer and Walter Buschbacher augmented the team score with 16th & 17th all-around scores respectively.  Jonathon acquired a 12th place on pommel horse and 14th place on floor.  Walter secured 16th place on pommel horse and rings.  Walter also tied for 13th place on high bar.

In the Level 4 boys Session 6 (Sr. 7's) Peter Henricksen accomplished a strong 6th place all-around score.  Peter placed 4th on floor and 3rd on parallel bars.

The Circle of Stars meet was a big event and the boys Level 4 team proudly attained strong positions for the DeVeau's Boys Team.  Winterfest competition is just around the corner and the team looks ahead to more successful events.

Level 4 Boys Take Their First Meet by Storm...

    The Level 4 boys had their first meet of the Season (and first meet of their careers for many) on  Dec 4 at Kentucky Winter Classic  in Louisville. They took it by storm!  The team got first place and were all very excited with their success! 

     The team was led in the Jr under 7 by Justin Davis was got first place in floor, pommel, P Bars and all around.  Nick Guy took second place all around and a first in high bar and second in rings.  These two were closely followed by Mitchell Brown who was fourth all around and a second in Pommel, Tyler Colon, fifth all around with a second in floor.  In All-around the boys placed seventh- Jarret Greene, eighth- Kelvyn Thompson, ninth -Drew Morris, tenth- Mitchell Fairweather, eleventh -Avery Lewis, and twelfth Aaron Varnau.  
     There was similar success for the senior under sevens.  Will Knight led with first place all around and first in pommel, rings, P bars and H bar, and a second in vault.  Murphy Angelo pulled in a close second with a first in vault and seconds in floor, pommel, and P bar.  In all-around scores, Luke Manley took fourth, Peter Henricksen took ninth, Jonathan Lauer took thirteenth and Walter Buschbacher took 14th!

     They are off to a great start, and best of all they all had a great time!!!

DeVeau's School of Gymnastics has 18 boys competing as Level 4 gymnasts for the 2004-2005 competition season. These boys spend 6 hours in the gym working on their skills and routines.
