October, 2006 - DeVeau's had an incredible competition at the Region V Future Stars evaluation.  Anton Stpehenson, Alec Yoder, and Nate Blachly, all 9 year olds, competed as 10 year olds and qualified for the National testing in Colorado Springs next month.   Jake Markisohn, who is just recovering from a broken arm, did an awesome job as well.  We are so proud of our boys! Christopher Stephenson, an 11 year old, finished 6th in the region which places him on the Region V Future Stars Team and qualifies him to compete in the national testing in Colorado.  What a great competition Christopher!!  The boys will travel to Colorado on November 9th and we wish them well!!
 

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Christopher Stephenson who placed 20th in
the 10 year old division at the Future Stars National Evaluations that were held in Colorado
Springs, CO on November 11th. The top 18 were placed on the National team and Chris's score was only .10 below the 18th qualifier. Christopher loved getting to use the Olympic
Training Center and seeing lots of outstanding gymnasts. Way to go Chris!!

On October 8th, the DeVeau's Future Stars boys traveled to Buffalo Grove, Illinois to participate in the Region 5 Regional Testing.  A HUGE Congratulations goes out to all of the DeVeau's boys who competed in the Region V Future Stars Evaluation. Christopher Stephenson, age 10, qualified for the National Evaluation in Colorado and will travel there in November.  Good job Christopher!! Reed Dillon, age 11, and Spencer Schath, age 12, both finished in the top 10 of their age category. In the 8-9 year old evaluations Nate Blachly and Sterling Manka were recognized as national qualifiers finishing 4th and 5th, while Anton Stephenson and Jake Markisohn finished 9th and 10th. Future Stars National Qualifier

The USAG site has posted the results from the National Future Stars Competition held on the weekend of November 19-21, 2004.  Go check it out sometime...

RESULTS....The boys who went to the Future Stars testing on October 24th came back with great results!  Our very own Spencer Schath will be traveling to Colorado to participate in the Future Stars National Testing!   In addition to Spencer's accomplishments, Alex, Sterling, Jake, Ryan, Christopher, Connor, Reed and Killian all did very well and we are proud of all of our FUTURE STARS!!!!

Future Stars testing will be on Sunday, October 24^th in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.  This past summer the following young men practiced an additional 2 hours each week to prepare for the testing.  Those boys include:

        Age Group 8-9:   Alex Bird, Sterling Manka, Jake Markisohn, Ryan McFatridge,
                                   Christopher Stephenson, and Connor Wilder

        Age Group 10-11:  Reed Dillon, Killian O'Brien and Spencer Schath

There will three age groups for testing.  The age groups are 8-9 year olds, 10-11 year olds, and 12 year olds.  In the 8-9 year old bracket, the top 6 boys in each region will be named to the Regional Futures Stars Team.  The Top finishers in the other two age groups will go to Colorado Springs for National Testing.  Good luck to all of DeVeaus Future Stars Gymnasts.

Future Stars Update
Congratulations to Blaize Monks and Killian O'Brien!!  These two boys competed at the Regional Future Stars competition held October 26/27, 2002 in Greater Kalamazoo, Michigan.  It was the first year for DeVeau's to be represented in this competition and the boys did us proud!  Killian finished 4th All Around and is officially part of the Region V Regional Team!  Way to go!!!  Look for his picture in the Nov/Dec issue of USA Gymnastics Magazine!!!  Blaize also had a great competition, however he didn't make it to Nationals.  To see how they did check out the results posted on the Region V site  (look in last column under "Region V F S Scores").
