Champion Winter Challenge, KY Sunday, December 9, 2007
The Boys Level 4 team experienced their first meet of the season and for most of the team members, it was their first gymnastics meet ever!  Even though the weather was cold and rainy outside, our athletes had shining smiles inside.  There were ~ 55 Level 4 athletes and 12 schools.
The boys started out on the Parallel Bars where Bennett Snipes scored his high score of 8.65.  Good lines Bennett!   They then moved to High Bar where Brendan Hench scored one of his high scores with an 8.3.  Keep swinging Brendan!  Then on to the Vault where James Moskal scored his high of 8.5.  Great 'spring' James!  After a short break, the boys went to the Pommel.  Both Jacob Dilick and Jonathan Bumgarner got to try for the extra .2 on the mushroom.  Tough success boys!  Next came the Rings, where several of our boys scored a few of their highs - Jacob, 9.0; Jonathan, 8.9, and Brendan 8.3.  What strength boys!  As we entered the third hour of competition, the Floor routines were tested.  This is where Nick Crail scored his high of 9.6!  Nice job Nick!  Jonathan had an additional success when he placed 1st in the All Around 6 year old age group.  Super job Jonathan!
Congratulations to our team who place 3rd!  Lots of successes for such a young group.
